Thank you to those that have filled out the smoke test surveys! I have gone ahead and sent out the rest of them now, and you should have received an email with the link to your survey.

Moving Forward:
The deadline to complete the surveys to guarantee the items you want is March 15th. I will be ordering extras of each item, but filling out the survey helps me estimate which design(s) will be more popular/which ones I should order more for! You can still fill out your survey after the deadline, but at this point I cannot guarantee there will be enough to fill your order.  When the majority of the surveys are answered or the deadline passes (whichever comes first), I will put all the products from this project into production.

A Note for Apple ID Backers:
Backers who have pledged to the campaign using their AppleID but haven't completely set up their Apple Pay account (linking their email address to their Apple Wallet) will have issues receiving their emails from BackerKit. 

Those backers have a @privaterelay.appleid.com email address and will need to contact me directly to update your email address manually. I can double check and update it with your preferred email address given your name and pledge number. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you didn't receive a survey so I can look into it for you.

Hi everyone,

With all the payments finalized, I have just sent out the smoke test. If you received a survey in your email, please go ahead and fill it out for me ASAP! If you are having any issues, you can reach out to me directly at [email protected]. About 5% of each tier received one to make sure the rest of the surveys are good to send out, and I will be doing so within the next week or when majority of the smoke test surveys have been answered (whichever comes first.)

At this stage, you will select the items you pledged for, any additional add-ons you may not have gotten the chance to select during the campaign period, as well as fill out your shipping address information. If you need to change your address before the shipping process starts, you can still do so after filling out the survey. 48 hours prior to locking in addresses, an email will be sent to you to confirm the address on file is correct. Please note that shipping costs will not yet be collected, as I am still working out the details with the new tariff policies regarding shipping to the USA! Another update will follow once I'm ready to charge for shipping.

If you were not able to make changes to your failed payment before today's deadline, you were not charged. In the case you are still interested in your reward, you may make a purchase through the pre-order store here. The pre-order store will close on March 15th, which is when I'm expecting to have the majority of the surveys filled out to place the order on the pins.

Hey everyone!

The survey I have been putting together has just been approved by Backerkit. To allow some time for those needing to update payment methods, I will beholding out for about another week before sending out the smoke test.

What is a Smoke Test?

The survey will be sent out to a random 5% of backers from each tier. This makes sure there are no errors in the survey and everything can run smoothly. Once these backers fill out their surveys or another week passes, I will make any changes (if necessary), and send out the survey to everyone else. From there on, we can move onto starting production.

As a reminder, shipping will not be charged when you complete the survey - you will only be charged for items you selected during the campaign period as well as any add-ons you wanted to purchase but didn't get the chance to earlier.

Hi everyone!

I've been working on creating the surveys as of last night when Pintopia concluded. It is currently being reviewed by the Backerkit team, and I'm expecting to send them out at the end of Feburary.

Information regarding shipping - you will not be charged until closer to fulfillment time. When the surveys are sent out, all you will need to do is fill in your item choice(s)/design(s) so I know how many of each to order (you will be charged for your pledge + add-ons first, separate from shipping.) Due to the volatility of shipping prices globally right now, shipping fees for this project will be calculated at a later date when better estimates can be provided and I don't end up overcharging. This is projected to happen about a month before fulfillment. Backers will be alerted via email when shipping costs are finalized, and before we charge your cards in your BackerKit survey. Updates will be provided all along the way.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for the support given to this project! Over the next couple of days, I will be working on the survey to send out in about two weeks. There, you will choose your items and their designs, as well as fill in your shipping address.

Some important things I want to touch upon as an artist shipping from Canada to the USA: If you have been keeping up with the news, Trudeau is discussing with Trump on what to do next, pausing tariffs on goods imported from Canada for 30 days as of February 3rd.

Because these pins are made in China, I am unable to declare the items as made in Canada. This means there may still be tariffs imposed on your package at the time of delivery. As of right now, de minimus is still in effect and packages under $800 are not subject to tariffs at the time of delivery. Given the project's time frame, it is possible this will be removed by the time the pins are finished production and shipping begins. The same goes for whatever Trudeau and Trump ultimately end up deciding on once the 30 day grace period is over.

The solution: I am getting updates from the shipping company I work with whenever there has been any changes. They will be providing the option to either charge tariffs at the time of delivery, or to be collected upfront for smooth delivery. I will make this part more clear when the surveys have been sent out, and you will have the option to choose whichever works best for you. Because of this, I will try to look into delaying the collection of shipping prices at the time of the survey until the items are ready to ship out, in case anything changes and I don't end up overcharging to make up for tariffs!
